Stanton Correctional Facility is operated by the Solano County Sheriff's Office Custody Division. It is a county correctional facility, not a CDCR prison, even though Solano County also has state prisons in Vacaville. A Stanton release is therefore first a county jail or county correctional release. The governing sources are the Solano Sheriff active locator while the person is held, the seven-day Jail Booking Logs for recent booking context, VINE for custody-status notification, and the sheriff or court record for a final release explanation.

The Stanton-specific clue in the research is the 03-SCF facility code visible in active locator results. If the locator displays a person at 03-SCF, the record is still active custody. The visible Projected Release Date field is useful, but it is not final proof of the date the person actually left custody. A court order, new hold, credit recalculation, transfer, or sentence change can alter the practical release path.

A person leaving Stanton may be released to the community, transferred to another Solano facility, moved to Alternative to Custody, sent to CDCR, transferred to another county, moved into federal custody, or routed into immigration detention if the case facts support that branch. If the person reports to probation or PRCS later, that supervision record is separate from the release itself. The release record should still say whether the person left sheriff custody, transferred, or moved into a specific supervision instruction.

Confirm a Stanton Release

Start with the Solano Sheriff in-custody locator. Enter at least the first three letters of the person's first or last name. If the result shows 03-SCF, inmate number, date of birth, and projected release date, the person is being shown as active in Solano custody. If the person no longer appears, use the absence as a prompt to check other records, not as a final answer.

1. Search the active locator and note whether 03-SCF appears.
2. Review the Jail Booking Logs, which cover the county's last seven days of people arrested and booked and are compiled in 24-hour periods.
3. Check VINE Inmate Check if a release notification or custody-status registration may exist.
4. Use Solano Superior Court records for bail, court-order, sentence, dismissal, warrant, or transfer information.
5. Request the public booking and release record from the Solano Sheriff Records/Warrants Bureau for final release time and manner.

For a Stanton release, do not substitute a state-prison search unless the person was sentenced or transferred to CDCR. If the court record shows a state-prison sentence, then CDCR CIRIS, CDCR records, and Board of Parole Hearings material become relevant. Until that point, the Stanton pathway remains county sheriff and Solano court centered.

If the person had a court case, include the case number. The court record is often the better way to explain why the release occurred, while the sheriff record is the better way to confirm the custody event.

Stanton is one of Solano County's three detention facilities named in the 2022-2023 Grand Jury assessment, along with Justice Center and Claybank. The assessment reported combined capacity of 1,435 inmates after AB 109 population changes. The key research distinction is that Stanton is a county correctional facility. It is not California State Prison, Solano and it is not California Medical Facility. State prison searches are important in Solano County because both CDCR prisons are in Vacaville, but that geography should not blur the agency line. For Stanton, use sheriff and court records unless a transfer or sentence takes the person elsewhere.

Projected Dates at Stanton

The active Solano locator's Projected Release Date field is a current-custody estimate or calculation. It is not the same as a final discharge record. The date may be blank, may change, or may be overtaken by court action. A person held pretrial, on a warrant, on a probation or parole matter, or awaiting a transfer may not have a simple jail-date calculation.

Transfers and ICE Questions

Solano's local ICE reporting should be handled carefully. A Vallejo Sun report said the Sheriff told supervisors the office notified ICE of a jail inmate release nine times in 2025. That does not mean a Stanton release ordinarily involves ICE. It means the ICE locator or immigration records may be a valid next step when the case facts show an ICE notification, immigration hold, or missing post-release location after county custody.
